Katy Fortune
Katy has lived all her life in north east England and loves being out and about enjoying its fabulous beaches and glorious countryside, always with a camera at hand, and often with a sketch book as well when weather permits. She had no professional art training, instead going into a health related career in local government, but her love of art was rekindled some years ago after visiting a local art exhibition at Gibside. Since then, Katy has been working to develop her painting skills and style, initially with watercolours, but more recently, using acrylics and mixed media. Having now retired from full time work, she has the opportunity to paint more often and tries to create paintings that are slightly looser in style but still portray the local coast and countryside, gardens, and other places she has visited.
