Carol has always loved painting and drawing but having no formal training she never progressed her art until she joined her local Gibside art club. A professional artist at the club taught her how to paint in watercolours and since then she has extended her knowledge with workshops and classes and now also paints in acrylics and pastel.

Since retirement she has been able to spend more time  painting.

Walks and visits to Northumberland and Durham coast and countryside, always with a sketch book and camera , have provided many images to paint.

Carol loves the changing seasons and the beauty of the flowers and countryside which she tries to capture in her pictures.
