 Natasha Armstrong

I am currently studying a Master's degree in Fine Art at Sunderland University. I have been part of exhibitions at No42 in Bishop Auckland, concurrent North East Art Weekend events at Brancepeth Castle, and Thought Foundation in Birtley.  I am currently participating in a virtual exhibition in conjunction with Sunderland University and Arts Council Collection in a response to the 'Paint the Town in Sound' at Sunderland Museum Winter Gardens. I am also involved in an exhibition in The Bank Artist Studio and Gallery in North Shields. I paint mostly in acrylics and like to work on more than one painting at a time so I can maintain a fresh perspective. Whilst I do try and work from direct observation and capture the essence of my subject, I tend to work from photographs that I have taken exploring and discovering the North East. Using these photographic references, notes and plein air impressions, I try to inject a sense of vibrancy and movement into my work.
