I live in South East Northumberland, in the small fishing village of Seaton Sluice, a great place for artistic inspiration! Largely a self-taught artist, I mainly use Northumbrian-made Unison Soft Pastels to recreate the unique colour and light found in the landscapes of Northumberland, the Scottish Borders, and Cumbria, evoking a strong sense of place and time and hopefully touching the soul of the viewer.
I occasionally venture into acrylics, watercolours and oils when the subject of the painting (and my artist’s instinct) requires a different medium.
As well as landscapes and seascapes, I also paint Pet Portraits from time to time.
Art has always been a passion of mine since childhood, but it was only after taking early retirement that I found the time to once more venture into my painting. I hope you enjoy what you see!
