Gill Gill
Gill Gill is a freelance illustrator and artist based in Sunderland, living close to the coast. Gill loves to paint the Scottish and North East coasts in oils and watercolours, capturing the extremes of light and shadow brought about by our interesting weather and seasons. She likes to draw local wildlife, particularly Puffins, using inks to produce quirky images representing their unique characters. She is also inspired by our rich Christian heritage here in the north- east and in particular, Durham and Lindisfarne. She now produces her images on mugs as well as on cards and as prints. Gill has taught watercolours in the community and was awarded a degree in Illustration from Sunderland University after training initially as a Landscape Designer.
