 Amanda Ford

Amanda started working with mixed media materials in 2016 after a career as a training and development consultant. Always having a creative flair this was an opportunity to apply this to build a small art and crafts business.

Amanda started working with a variety of mixed media including driftwood, reclaimed materials, wool and resin before focussing on creating fused glass work using Bullseye COE90 glass.

After investing in a larger kiln in August 2019 her work has evolved and Amanda now creates larger artworks as well as pieces that are ornamental and fun to have around the home. Described by many customers as “art to make you smile” Amanda has adopted this as a strap line to describe much of her work.

Amanda exhibited in the Woodhorn exhibition earlier this year (Myths & Legends of Northumberland) by designing a piece inspired by the Duddo Stone circle in North Northumberland and looks forward to entering the exhibition again in 2021.

Much of Amanda’s work is inspired by the local area, from the moorlands of Simonside and The Cheviot hills over to our beautiful rugged coastline. Commissions are undertaken.
