Trudi Sloan

I have always had a passion for art and painting. However, working, combined with raising a family, meant that it was placed on the back-burner. When mum was diagnosed with dementia, I left my job to look after her.  When she sadly succumbed some three years later, I found that returning to my old love of art proved very therapeutic and gave me a new focus. Now I can't stop painting. I paint everyday and it makes me happy! I paint in oils and am self-taught.

I was born in Newcastle and have lived most of my life here. I have always loved both this beautiful city and Northumberland. I enjoy painting local scenes, from urban to countryside. I have found that going out to find a scene to paint is all part of the fun. I enjoy working in detail with a brush, and abstract palette knife pieces too.”
