Ted writes  “I liked Art at school, was always good at drawing and painting, so I went to university to study Mechanical Engineering.

Worked at Vickers Armstrong heavy engineering works at Elswick, then left to join the family interior design business. Retired, and returned to drawing and painting.

The difficult bits were deciding what to paint; and then when to stop. I have solved the first but still struggle with the second. Good pictures are all about putting the right colours in the right place; I have all the right colours but they"re not always in the right place, but I"m working at it……"
