 Judith Herdman

Judith Herdman was born in, and has always lived in Northumberland.  She took up painting in the 1990s, taking evening classes at a local school.  However, after a couple of years, work and home took priority with artistic endeavours going on the back burner.  Following retirement in 2014 Judith dusted off the paints and brushes.  She undertook a two year watercolour course, joined Morpeth Art Group and Stannington Art Group, Bedlington Art Club and Hepscott Art Group. She is a member of Coquetdale Art Gallery and Committee.

Judith’s art covers most media: watercolour, gouache, acrylics, oils, pastels and drawing.  Her preferred medium is oils.  The subject matter of her work covers landscapes, seascapes, animals/pets, and florals.  She has done many commissions (principally animals/pets).  She also has coasters, mugs, bags, and prints of some of her work available.

Judith has exhibited at several galleries and exhibitions, including Morpeth Chantry, Morpeth Town Hall, Newbiggin Maritime Centre, The Forge Allendale, as well as annual Art Group exhibitions.  Over the past two years, she has been successful in having six paintings accepted for the Woodhorn Open Exhibition.  During June 2021 she is exhibiting at Gallery 45 in Felton.
